
Perroni Records Hat Trick in Loss at No. 5 Boston College

Nicole Perroni earns her third straight hat trick.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Led by a hat trick for Nicole Perroni, the University of Louisville lacrosse team fell 19-8 to No. 5 Boston College on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at Alumni Stadium.
With the loss, the Cardinals move 4-3 on the year and 1-2 in ACC play, while the Eagles improve to 5-2 on the year and 2-1 in ACC play.
"Great start. Great start once again," said head coach Scott Teeter. "I thought our defense and Sara (Addeche) played great to keep us with the lead. They make a goaltending change, and we go scoreless for 37 minutes. Kudos to their top players, Jenn (Medjid) and Bell (Smith) played outstanding."
The Cards got off to a fast start scoring the first three goals of the first quarter. Kokoro Nakazawa fired in two in the first seven minutes and Hannah Morris earned one of her own. Jenn Medjid scored her first of the game, but UofL answered back with one goal each from Kylea Dobson and Nicole Perroni. BC earned two more goals to give the Cards the 5-3 lead to end the first quarter.
Perroni earned her third straight hat trick scoring two goals in the second quarter. Dobson also knocked in a goal on a free position shot. Boston College scored six times in the second quarter to grab the 9-8 lead heading into halftime.
The Eagles scored 10 unanswered goals in the second half.
Nakazawa had a team-high two assists and Madi McKee recorded eight draw controls.
Sara Addeche played for 48:35 minutes and recorded nine saves and a .375 save percentage.
Next up, Louisville returns home against No. 1 North Carolina on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET.
