
Cards Host No. 1 North Carolina and Travel to Marquette

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville lacrosse program continues Atlantic Coast Conference play on Thursday as they host No. 1 North Carolina at 1 p.m. ET before stepping out of conference play and traveling to Marquette on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Cardinals (4-3, 1-2 ACC) lost a tough matchup to No. 5 Boston College falling 8-19 on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
The Cardinals got off to a quick start, scoring the first three goals of the first quarter. Kokoro Nakazawa fired in two in the first seven minutes and Hannah Morris earned one of her own. Nicole Perroni earned her third straight hat trick scoring all three in the first half. Kylea Dobson also knocked in two goals with one on a free-position attempt. The Eagles turned up the defense in the second half rendering the Cards scoreless. Nakazawa had a team-high two assists and Madi McKee recorded eight draw controls. Sara Addeche played for 48:35 minutes and recorded nine saves and a .375 save percentage.
Perroni continues to excel this season scoring ten goals (.786 shot on goal percentage) in the last three games along with three assists, seven ground balls, four caused turnovers, and eight draw controls. The Ontario-native is on a 27 goal-scoring and point-scoring streak that started on April 1, 2021. Her goal-scoring streak ranks fourth in Cardinals' history and her point-scoring streak ranks fifth.
The Cards are playing their second-straight top five opponent and fifth ranked opponent of the season. UofL is 1-3 against ranked opponents this season after defeating No. 25 Colorado and falling to No. 9 Denver, No. 12 Virginia, and No. 5 Boston College.

Senior attacker Mary Schumar knocked in four goals and five assists to total nine points, tied for third-most in a single game in program history. Leah Steiner and Lydia Foust also earned four goals and Shea Garcia recorded a hat trick. Brynna Nixon made six saves and had three ground balls.
