No. 24 Louisville Hosts Lindenwood on Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 24 University of Louisville lacrosse team is set to take on Lindenwood this Sunday at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium at 1 p.m. ET. Admission to the UofL Lacrosse Stadium is free to all fans.
The Cardinals (1-1) opened the season in with a near upset (5-4 loss) of No. 10 Denver and a 12-5 win against then-ranked No. 25 Colorado. The Cards strong defensive performance was led by ACC Defensive Player of the Week Sara Addeche. The junior goalkeeper recorded 21 saves over the weekend, with 14 coming in the win against Colorado. Addeche owns a .677 save percentage on the season.
Nicole Perroni continued her 22-game goal-scoring streak, scoring twice against both Denver and Colorado. The senior has a team-high four goals and four points, 11 shots (8 shots on goal), four groundballs, two draw controls, and four caused turnovers through the first two games of the season.
Sophomore Izzy Seikel had a breakout performance against Colorado recording four goals in the second half on five shots (five shots on goal). The midfielder adds one groundball, one draw control, and two turnovers to the stat sheet so far this season.
Three Cardinals earned their first goal for the red and black over the weekend. Negai Nakazawa, a freshmen attacker, and Lauren Figas, a sophomore midfielder, both notched in one goal each game. Figas scored on a free position attempt in the game against Denver. Freshman midfielder Rian Adkins whipped in her first goal on a free position attempted against Colorado. Nakazawa has also recorded one assist, two groundballs, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers so far this season. Figas added in one groundball and one caused turnover.
Madi McKee moved up to No. 9 in the Cardinal record books with 87 career draw controls after recording eight over the weekend. The 6-1 junior is ranked No. 2 in career draw controls per game with 4.35.
About the Lions
Lindenwood (1-1) earned their first NCAA Division I win with a 17-15 win against Central Michigan on Tuesday. The Lions trailed CMU 7-1 heading into the second quarter but quickly answered back, scoring nine of their own and keeping CMU to one goal. Lindenwood pulled out the win behind Logann Eldredge's nine points with six coming from goals and three from assists. Three players had a least four points and ten had at least one point. Goalkeeper Eleanor Kast made seven saves.
The Lions fell 9-17 to California in their season opener. California started off strong scoring six goals in the first quarter to Lindenwood's one. The Lions then shrank the deficit going into halftime, but Cal came out swinging scoring eight goals in the second half. Emma Arnold led the way with four gals and Elisabeth Ralph notched in two. Kast protected the net recording nine saves.
Series History – The Cardinals will face the Lions in regular season for the first time in program history.
