
Divers Win Men's Team Competition at House of Champions Meet

Women placed second in Team Competition
INDIANAPOLIS -- The University of Louisville divers completed their first two days of competition at the House of Champions diving meet held on the campus of IUPUI.

The Cardinal men's diving team of Adam Sneden, Che Stephens, and Rayce Winn competed in the Diving Team Event and placed first with a score
 of 333.15 edging out IUPUI by 3 points. Freshman, Rayce Winn finished fifth place in the men's 3-meter final with a personal best score of 343.00. Che Stephens finished 11th in prelims with a score of 263.75.

The Lady Cards put three divers in the 1-meter final with Else Praasterink finishing third with a score of 260.75. Else was the top qualifier after scoring a 297.20 in the prelims. Samm Helmboldt finished fourth with a score of 258.10 after scoring 278.00 in prelims. Lindsay Gizzi finished sixth in finals with a score of 239.05. Grace Leonard had a ninth place finish in the prelims with a score of 253.05.

On Thursday night, in the women's 3-meter event, Else Praasterink finished 1st with a score of 302.75. In prelims, Else achieved a lifetime best score of 339.95. Lindsay Gizzi finished third with a score of 292.25 and Sammantha Helmboldt finished fifth with a score of 278.75. Rounding out the 3m event was Grace Leonard with a 17th place finish in the 3m prelim, scoring 209.50.Â

The women also contested the team event. This event consists of three divers each performing two dives. The divers must cover all 6 diving categories while performing two dives on 1-meter, two dives on 3-meter, and two dives on platform. The team of Else Praasterink, Lindsay Gizzi, and Grace Leonard finished in second place as a team with a score of 289.40.

The men were in action on the 1-meter today. Adam Sneden won the 1-meter consolation final with a score of 320.30. Che Stephens finished in 4th place during the 1-meter final with a score of 330.45 while freshman Rayce Winn finished in 8th place with a score of 269.45. Rayce scored a 303.40 in the 1-meter prelims.Â
