She scored the game-winning goal over No. 25 Duke
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville senior forward Emma Hiscock was named ACC Offensive Player of the week, the conference announced Tuesday morning. Hiscock scored the game-winning goal for the Cardinals in their 1-0 win over No. 25 Duke last Thursday.
In the final home game of the regular season, Hiscock scored her second goal of the season in the first half to give the Cardinals an early lead. The play began after Autumn Weeks played a pass up to Hayley Howard who sent a cross upfield that got Hiscock behind the Blue Devil defense. After getting into the box, Hiscock fired a left-footed shot towards the far post and it got past the keeper for the goal.
It was her second goal of the season after she scored the first goal in the Cards 3-2 win over Pitt on Sept. 21. It was the second game-winning goal of Hiscock's career and the first since the 2021 season. She scored the game-winning goal in the 99th minute of the 2-1 win in overtime over Wake Forest back in 2021.
Hiscock is the first Cardinal to earn ACC Offensive Player of the Week since Emina Ekic earned the honor in October of the 2020 season.
