Louisville was ranked fifth in Baseball America’s preseason rankings.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program earned its highest preseason ranking of the spring to date on Monday, as Baseball America ranked the Cardinals fifth in its preseason poll.
Baseball America is the third publication to rank the Cards in the top 10 this preseason, joining Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game which had them ranked sixth and seventh, respectively.
LSU sits atop the latest preseason poll, followed by Tennessee and Florida. Stanford sits in fourth, one spot ahead of the Cardinals. Louisville is one of seven ACC teams in Baseball America's top 25, and one of three in the top 10.
Louisville finished with a 42-21-1 record last season, winning the program's fifth ACC Atlantic Division title in seven full seasons as a member of the league.
Dan McDonnell enters his 17th season at UofL with four position player starters returning and 11 pitchers that recorded at least 10 innings on the mound last spring.
Louisville begins the 2023 season on Feb. 17 with a three-game series against Bucknell at Jim Patterson Stadium.
