
Swimming and Diving Release 2022-23 Schedule

Cardinals have daunting slate of competition
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville Cardinals have released their Swimming and Diving 2022-23 Schedule for this season. The slate showcases three home dual meets as well as the annual Louisville Invitational to be hosted at Ralph Wright Natatorium.

The Cards will open the season against long-time regional rival, the Musketeers of Xavier before heading to the SMU Classic. At SMU, the altered format event features eight swimmers and one diver from each competing institution. Each swimmer may compete in three events per day, and events will be contested in two heats, with one swimmer from each school in each heat. Divers will compete on 1- and 3-meter.

The next home dual meet will feature the Volunteers of Tennessee where the Cardinals will face a men's squad that finished their season ranked No. 14, up from 17th and finished 18th at the NCAA  with 72.5 points. UT's women's finished the season ranked No. 5 after a season-high ranking of third. The Vols finished 10th at the NCAA Championships with 127 points.

Next up is the long-time rival Notre Dame, with the rivalry getting extra spicy as former UofL coach Chris Lindauer is at the helm for the Irish. Joining Lindauer in South Bend are Cardinals Forever Kameron Chastain and Kelsi Dahlia. Last season, the Irish men finished 33rd at the NCAA Championships and  the women were receiving votes and finished 33rd at the NCAA Championships.

The Cards then travel to the Purdue Invitational which is a three-day format set to mirror the postseason competition with prelims and finals each day against a strong regional field. The Boilermaker men's team finished tied for 15th at the NCAA with 85 points and the women's team finished 30th at the NCAA Â with14 points.

After the Toyota US Long Course and the holiday break, the Cards head to Columbia to face the Tigers of Missouri. MU men finished last season ranked No. 20 and place 25th at the NCAA Championship with 27 points. The Tiger women's team were ranked No. 23 Â and placed 25th at the NCAA Championship with 34 points.

The Cardinals then head to Lexington where they will face intrastate rival Kentucky. Last season the Wildcat men's team finished ranked No. 31 at the NCAA and the women were ranked No. Â 12 after placing 12th at NCAA with 115.5 points.

Traditional power Indiana will take on the Cards at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. Last season, the Hoosier men finished fourth in the rankings and landed at fifth at NCAA Championships with 265 points. The Hoosier women finished the season ranked No. 15 and placed 11th at NCAA with 116 points.

 Cincinnati will mark the final dual meet of the season and serve as Senior Day. UofL will host the Louisville Invitational that next week to help secure the ACC Championship roster.

The ACC Championships will again be a combined event with the meet taking place in Greensboro at the GAC.

The women's NCAA Championship is slated to be held in Knoxville with the men's meet following a week later in Minneapolis.
