
Louisville Starts Final Roadtrip at Pittsburgh this Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville lacrosse hits the road again as it begins its final stretch of away games, taking on the Pittsburgh Panthers this Saturday at Highmark Stadium. The contest is set for 12 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

Louisville is coming off a 15-6 win over Vanderbilt last Tuesday.

In the win over Vanderbilt, Louisville outscored the Commodores 7-1 in the second half. UofL has outscored their opponent in the second half in 10 of 13 games. The Cards are outscoring their opponents 78-57 in the second half and 36-23 in the fourth quarter.

Senior Hannah Morris leads the team with 42 goals, which rank fifth in the ACC and 13th in the nation. Her 3.23 goals per game rank seventh in the league. Morris is six goals away from 100 in her career. Junior Nicole Perroni is second on the team with 32 goals and ranks 15th in the conference with her 2.48 goals per game ranking 17th.

Freshman J Pleck and sophomore Sara Addeche have been a solid duo splitting time between the pipes this season. In the win over Vanderbilt, Addeche and Pleck combined to limit the Commodores to just six goals. Addeche had five saves and a .500 save perÂcentage, while Pleck had two saves and a .667 save percentage. Addeche held Vanderbilt scoreless for the first 13-and-a-half minutes of the game, while Pleck held the Commodores scoreless for a 14-and-a-half-minute stretch in the second half.

The Cardinals have four players with 20+ goals on the year in Morris (42), Perroni (32), Allegra Catalano (24) and Caroline Blalock (23). The last time the Cardinals had four such players was 2019 when the team had five in Tessa Chad (56), Ally Hall (28), Shayla Scanlan (26), Alex McNicholas (23) and Caroline Blalock (20).

Blalock is in the midst of a 19-game point streak, dating back to 4/3/21 vs. Virginia Tech. The streak is the longest of her career and is the longest since Hannah Koloski recorded a point in 22 straight games from 4/23/16-5/12/17. Perroni boasts a 15-game point streak dating back to 4/24/21 vs. Notre Dame.

Caroline and Sarah Blalock are tied for second all-time in program history with 73 games played. They sit behind Stephanie McNamara's 75 game career with four games left in the season.

Caroline is also tied for second all-time in both caused turnovers (92) and assists (51) and can take sole possession of second place in the record books.

The Panthers are off to a 6-7, 0-6 ACC start in their inaugural season. Pittsburgh enters Saturday's contest after falling 18-6 at Syracuse. The Panthers are led by grad student attacker Paige Petty who has scored 30 goals on the year. Petty is fifth in the ACC with 0.91 free position goals per game and is eighth in the league with a .526 free position percentage. Pittsburgh's grad student goalkeeper Paulina DiFatta has been an anchor in net with 116 saves with a .441 save percentage while leading the team with 35 ground balls. DiFatta leads the ACC in saves per game (8.85) and ground balls per game (2.69) and is ranked third in save percentage. As a team, Pitts is second in the conference and seventh in the nation with a .536 free position percentage.Â
