CARDINAL NOTES
• The Cardinals bring a 17-10 overall record and a 1-2 mark in ACC play into the weekend following their conference-opening series against Georgia Tech.

• Kendall Smith was named one of 30 Senior CLASS Award Candidates. The graduate senior has reached base safely via a hit or walk in the last 11 games.
• The Cardinals starting lineup frequently features four freshmen.
• Louisville was picked to finish sixth in the ACC in a preseason vote by the league's head coaches.

THE APRILE ERA
• Holly Aprile is entering her fourth season as UofL's head coach. With the 2020 campaign suspended prior to its midway point due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Aprile has compiled a 81-72-1 record and guided the Cardinals to an NCAA regional final appearance in 2019.
• Prior to her arrival at Louisville, Aprile, the 2018 ACC Coach of the Year spent 10 seasons (2009-18) as Pittsburgh's head coach and five years (2004-08) as an assistant. In 2018, she earned ACC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Panthers to the 2018 ACC Coastal Division title and a runner-up finish in the ACC tournament.

Series History: Clemson leads 4-0
Last Meeting: Then No. 23/25 Clemson defeated Louisville 4-2 on March 21, 2021, at Ulmer Stadium. The Tigers swept the four-game series as the teams met for the first time.
Scouting the Tigers: No. 16/15 Clemson brings a 19-9 overall record following a 3-2 loss to No. 17 Georgia on Wednesday and a 1-5 mark in ACC play.
• Last weekend, the Tigers went 1-2 against No. 13/8 Duke in an ACC series against in Durham.
• The Tigers are led by Cammy Pereira who carries a .325 batting average. Additionally, 2022 ACC Player and Freshman of the Year Valerie Cagle paces the team with seven home runs and 21 RBIs. Cagle also carries a 7-5 record in the circle with 81 strikeouts in 68.2 innings of work.
