Louisville Baseball Winning Streak Ends at Six

The Cardinals took a 6-2 loss against Lipscomb on Tuesday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team took a 6-2 loss on Tuesday night against Lipscomb at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Louisville (16-5) saw its six-game winning streak come to an end and finishes up its long homestand at 15-3.
The Cardinals return to ACC play on Friday with three games at Boston College. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET at BC.
Lipscomb (11-10) plated the game's first four runs, scoring one in the first and then getting a three-run home run in the third.
UofL got on the board in the fourth inning on a groundball from Levi Usher and a Lipscomb throwing error helped the Cardinals push another run across in the fifth.
Louisville had its opportunities offensively on Tuesday, putting at least one runner on base in all nine innings. However, the Cardinals had just two hits on the night with runners on base.
Lipscomb tacked on single runs in the eighth and ninth to help put the game away.
Cameron Robinson and Ryan Hawks each turned in strong outings on the mound out of the bullpen. Robinson struck out five over 2.1 innings and Hawks finished with four strikeouts in two scoreless.
Jack Payton and Ben Metzinger were each 2-for-5 at the plate, tying Payton for the team lead with 11 multi-hit games.
