
Cardinals Face Off Against Butler on Tuesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse is back in action this Tuesday when the Cardinals face off against Butler at UofL Lacrosse Stadium. The game is set for 3 p.m. ET on ACC Network Extra.

UofL is off to a 3-0 start at home this season after beating Marquette (2/18), Central Michigan (2/20) and Virginia Tech (2/26). The Cardinals have won their first three home games for the first time since 2017 when they got off to a 6-0 start at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.Â

Louisville has won the draw in each of its five games this season and its 17.8 draws per game rank third in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA. They have recorded at least 17 draw controls in every game this season and are winning the draw control battle, 89-58.Â

Junior Nicole Perroni leads the team with 16 goals this season, which ranks eighth in the ACC and 12th in the NCAA. Senior Hannah Morris is second on the team with 15 goals, which ranks ninth in the ACC and 17th in the NCAA.

Junior Madi McKee has been an anchor for the Cardinals in the draw. She has 34 draw controls and her 6.8 draws per game rank eighth in the ACC and 18th in the country.Â

With a win against Butler, Louisville will extend its winning streak to four games, which would mark its first four-game winning streak since 2016 when the Cardinals won five straight from March 16 to March 30.

The Bulldogs are off to a 1-1 start this season. Last season, Butler finished with a 1-11 record, 0-10 in the Big East. The Bulldogs enter Tuesday's game coming off a 16-11 loss at Central Michigan. Campbell Connors leads the Bulldogs with five goals and is tied with Kaley Attaway for a team-high five points. Leah Rubino leads the team with nine draw controls and six ground balls. Butler's goalkeeper, Aleigh Monroe, has 11 saves and six ground balls on the year.  Â

Series History - Louisville is 2-0 all-time against Butler with both wins coming in Indianapolis. In the two meetings, the Cardinals have outscored the Bulldogs, 35-9.
