Louisville suffered a 6-4 loss on Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team suffered a 6-4 loss against Dartmouth on Saturday at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The loss drops Louisville to 3-3 overall and evens the weekend series with the rubber game set for Sunday at noon ET.
Dartmouth (1-1) jumped out to an early lead with a run in the top of the first inning, but it was short-lived.
Cameron Masterman crushed a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead. It was the third straight game with a long ball for the senior.
Dartmouth evened the game at two in the fourth, however UofL moved back in front in the sixth. Isaac Humphrey singled to start the inning and later scored on a passed ball. Logan Beard then added a sacrifice fly to score Levi Usher to give the Cardinals a 4-2 advantage.
It was all Dartmouth from then though, with the Big Green plating three runs in the seventh and adding an insurance run in the ninth.
Beard had the lone multi-hit game on the day for the Cardinals, going 2-for-3 with a RBI.
