Swimming and Diving Head To SMU Classic

Unique format calls on programs' most versatile swimmers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville swimming and diving team is sending its most versatile swimmers to the 2022-23 SMU Classic held at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8.
Friday's action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. (ET), while Saturday's competition is set for 11 a.m. Â (ET). The meet can be seen on PonyUp TV and live results will be available on SMUMustangs.com, DiveMeets and on the Meet Mobile App.

The 2022 edition of the Classic features five teams that finished in the top 25 at the NCAA Championships. Â Â Texas finished second, while Louisville (12th), Texas A&M (19th), Michigan (22nd), Missouri (25th) and SMU round out the Field.

The women's field will showcase Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, SMU, and USC. The men's field includes Texas, Louisville, Texas A&M, Michigan, Missouri and SMU.
Event Format
The event features each team bringing eight swimmers and one diver from each competing institution. Each swimmer may compete in three events per day, and events will be contested in two heats, with one swimmer from each school in each heat. Divers will compete on 1- and 3-meter.
Cardinal Women
UofL is sending Gabi Albiero, Madie Hall, Paige Hetrick, Paige Kuwata, Christiana Regenauer, Rye Ulett, Tristen Ulett, Cecilia Viberg and diver Jiselle Miller.
Cardinal Men
The Cardinal men will be Guy Brooks, Charlie Crush, Denis Loktev, Dalton Lowe, Jackson Millard, Denis Petrashov, Abdelrahman El-Araby, Murilo Sartori, and diver Adam Sneden.
 Last Year's Classic
In 2021, the Michigan men won with a combined 336 points, followed by Louisville (325), Missouri (303), Texas A&M (255), SMU (242.5) and Arizona 168.5)Â The Michigan women won by compiling 356 points over the two days followed by Louisville (334), Missouri (284), Miami (240), SMU (230) and Arizona (209).
