Cards in Fifth Place After Two Rounds at the Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Louisville women's golf team opened its 2021 fall schedule by finishing the first day of play at Michigan's Wolverine Invitational in fifth place.
The Cardinals shot 10-over 578 285-293) during the opening day that featured two rounds of competition on the par-71 University of Michigan Golf Course. The Wolverines, hosting a home event for the first time since 2012, took the early lead at 6-under 562.
Lauren Thibodeau and Mairead Martin each led the team with a 36-hole total of 2-over-par 144 to sit in a tie for 12th place. Thibodeau and
Martin each opened the season with an even-par 71 in their first rounds of action, while the duo also shot 73 during the second round of play.
Hana Ryskova is one shot behind her teammates after shooting 71-74=145 to sit in a tie for 20th place, with teammate Agustina Gomez-Cisterna, who was playing as an individual, shot 77-68=145. Her second round 68 was the third best round of the day.
Kendall Griffin, a transfer from LSU, is tied for 34th after posting rounds of 72-75=147, while Carmen Griffiths rounded out the top five by placing in a tie for 53rd place after carding 78-73=151.
Tuesday's final round will start at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Cavaliers will be paired with Iowa State and Kent State.
