Salcutan Swims in Olympic Semifinal in Tokyo

The Moldavian Cardinal swam in the 200M freestyle
University of Louisville Cardinal Tatiana Salcutan was the only Cardinal woman to advance to the semifinals as the Moldavian was racing tonight at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Â

Salcutan stopped the clock at 2:10.09 in the semifinals of the 200M Backstroke while swimming for Moldova. Australian Emily Seebohm edged American Phoebe Bacon at the finish by .01, with the winning time of 2:07.09. Rhyan White, the other American to advance, went 2:07.28 to round out the top three for tomorrow's final. Â Salcutan finished 11th overall.

Tomorrow will feature Cardinals Andrej Barna (Serbia) swimming the 50 free and Marcelo Acosta (El Salvador) in the 1500M Freestyle.
