Harting and Dahlia Complete Cardinals' Swimming at US Olympic Trials

31 total Cardinal athletes competed in the Trials
OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of Louisville swimming program had a finalist and a semi-finalist in the water tonight at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the CHI Health Center.

Harting was back in the finals, this time in the 100M butterfly where he put up a 52.39 to finish sixth. The winner was Caeleb Dressel, who blazed to a 49.87 to go under the 50-second mark again. Cal's Tom Shields took the other spot with a 51.19.

Kelsi Dahlia swam in the semi-finals of the women's 50 freestyle putting up a 25.11 to finish 10th just shy of the final and just .84 off the winning time which was posted by Cal's Abbie Weitzeil. Torri Huske will be the second seed with a 24.45 and Simone Manuel qualified third 24.50 as they head to tomorrow's finals.

It was a busy morning of swimming in the final day of prelims at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
In all, UofL fielded six sprinters competing this morning. The Cardinals were led by Kelsi Dahlia's 24.98 which earned her a spot in the semifinals. For the rest of the Louisville sprinters, Gabi Albiero posted a time of 25.52 in the 50M Freestyle with Tristen Ulett turning in a 25.94. Casey Fanz went 25.52 and Mallory Comerford posted a 25.81. On the men's side, Mihalis Deliyiannis went 22.67.

Then the schedule turned to the 1500 freestyle where T.C. Smith turned in a 15:37.32 and Hayden Curley swam a 15:43.45.
