
Women’s Soccer Places Program-Best Six Players on All-ACC Academic Team

Morgan Bentley, Sarah Hernandez, Gabby Kouzelos, Nadege L’Esperance, Delaney Snyder and Maisie Whitsett were named to the All-ACC Women's Soccer Academic Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that University of Louisville women's soccer's Morgan Bentley, Sarah Hernandez, Gabby Kouzelos, Nadege L'Esperance, Delaney Snyder and Maisie Whitsett were named to the All-ACC Women's Soccer Academic Team.
The six student-athletes are the most that Louisville has ever placed on the All-ACC Academic Team.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Bentley is studying business and finished with a 3.700 grade point average this spring and has a 3.850 cumulative GPA. She was named to the AD Honor and to the Dean's List.
She saw action in all 12 matches, with 11 starts as a freshman. She recorded her first collegiate goal at Virginia Tech and that goal served as game-winner in a 1-0 victory. She recorded seven shots with three on goal for the season.
Hernandez had a 3.880 GPA this semester and has a 3.952 GPA for her career while studying criminal justice. She has been named to the AD Honor Roll and the Dean's List.
She started all 12 matches, recording 10 shots with four shots on goal. She had a team-high three shots vs. Notre Dame.
Kouzelos is named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the third time. She graduated Magna Cum Laude this spring with a B.S. in exercise science and a psychology minor. She finished with a 3.925 GPA for the semester and a 3.877 GPA for her career. She has been named to the AD Honor Roll and the Dean's List.
She was named preseason All-ACC and to Top Drawer's Top 10 Goalkeepers list prior to the start of the season. At the conclusion of the fall season, she was named Third Team All-ACC. She started all 12 matches and recorded a total of 53 saves with a .803 save percentage. Kouzelos recorded a career-high ten saves in a 2-0 loss at Virginia, her previous career-high was nine saves two weeks prior at Florida State.
L'Esperance is studying chemical engineering and had a perfect 4.0 GPA this semester, while maintaining a 3.989 GPA for her career. She has been named to the Dean's List, a Dean's Scholar and to the AD Honor Roll.
She started all 12 matches for the Cardinals as a midfielder, recording seven shots with four on goal. She recorded a season-high two shots vs. Virginia and played all 107 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Auburn.
Synder, now a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, had a 3.880 GPA this semester and a cumulative GPA of 3.655, while studying sport administration. She has been named to the AD Honor Roll and Dean's List.
She scored Louisville's first goal of the season at Miami and finished that game with a goal and an assist. Snyder had two assists in Louisville's 2-0 win over Boston College. She started all 12 matches and finished the season with six points.
Whitsett was also named to the All-ACC Academic Team following her freshman season. She had a 3.636 GPA this semester and a 3.592 cumulative GPA, while studying biology. She was named to the AD Honor Roll and the Dean's List.
She saw action in all 12 matches, with 11 starts, recording nine shots with two on goal. She recorded a season-high two shots against Boston College and scored her lone goal of the season in the 15th minute of a 1-0 shutout victory over Dayton.
