Louisville and No. 7/7 Florida State End Series with 0-0 Tie; Seminoles Take First Game of Sunday Doubleheader

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After No. 7/7 Florida State took game one of a Sunday ACC doubleheader 9-0, the University of Louisville softball team and the Seminoles played through 11 scoreless innings in game two, resulting in a 0-0 tie when the contest was called because of a pre-determined stop time due to Florida State's flight.
The Cardinals will finish the rest of the regular season on the road starting with a four-game series at Boston College April 30-May 2.

No. 7/7 Florida State 0 – Louisville 0 (11 inn.)
The series finale went 11 innings and lasted three hours before it was halted. The Seminoles (33-7-1, 21-3-1 ACC) tallied eight hits and Louisville delivered six. Stalwart pitching and solid defense prevented any runs from scoring. FSU stranded 12 runners while Louisville left seven on base.

Florida State had a chance to score in the 11th inning when Devyn Flaherty singled, stole second and advanced to third on an error. One out later, Dani Morgan sent a fly ball to shallow centerfield where Celene Funke made a diving catch and threw a strike to catcher Cassady Greenwood who tagged Flaherty out at the plate for an inning-ending double play.

The Cardinals (17-23-1, 11-17-1 ACC) had a scoring opportunity in the fourth when Taylor Roby delivered a one-out double and took third on a groundout, but another groundout ended the inning.

Louisville also had a runner in scoring position in the 11th when Carmyn Greenwood singled and Roby was intentionally walked for the second time in the game to put two on with two outs, but the Cardinals were unable to capitalize.

Roby got the start in the circle and threw seven scoreless innings, striking out five and giving up six hits. Gabby Holloway scattered two hits and struck out one in 4.0 innings of relief.

Carmyn Greenwood and Makayla Hurst let the Cardinals at the plate with two hits apiece. Roby doubled and was intentionally walked twice in the game.
