LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No. 18 University of Louisville women's lacrosse continues a three-game road stretch on Saturday in Blacksburg, Va., as they face Virginia Tech at 12 p.m. at Thompson Field. The game will broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.

The Cardinals are 4-6 overall and 0-5 in conference play. The Hokies enter Saturday's game at 3-6 on the season and 0-4 in the league.

Despite four straight losses, all against top five teams in the country, Louisville remains in the IWLCA top-25 for the sixth straight week at No. 16. They are ranked 18th by IL Women and 19th in US Lacrosse Magazine.

Ally Hall continues to lead the Cardinals with 22 goals and 27 points after 10 games. Alex McNicholas tops the roster with 11 caused turnovers and 25 draw controls. Caroline Blalock has a team-high eight assists and 21 ground balls, while also ranking second in points (25) and draw controls (25).

Goalkeeper Rachel Florek has recorded 93 saves throughout the 2021 campaign, which ranks first in the ACC and fifth in the NCAA. Her 9.2 saves per game rank second in the league, while her .445 save percentage ranks sixth.

Virginia Tech enters Saturday's game with a 3-6 record and 0-4 in conference action. The Hokies, who were ranked No. 16 in the initial Inside Lacrosse poll this year, concluded the shortened 2020 campaign with a 7-3 record. Preseason All-ACC selection Paige Petty leads the team with 23 goals and 25 draw controls after nine games. She ranks second in the ACC with seven shots per game. Sarah Lubnow paves the way for the Hokies with 17 assists and 29 points, and ranks second in the league in both assists and assists per game (2.43). Goalkeeper Angie Benson has registered 55 saves for a .417 save percentage, while Benson and Kendall Welch have both tallied 15 ground balls. Head coach John Sung owns a 43-34 record in his fifth year at Virginia Tech. He led the Hokies to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018.
