Cardinal Women Qualify 12 for 2021 NCAA Championships

Louisville will have swimmers in 11 events and all five relays.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Following their third place finish at the ACC Championships, the University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team qualified 12 individual swimmers and two relay swimmers to the 2021 NCAA Championships,

The NCAA has released its official psych sheets (along with the invite line) for the 2021 Women's NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The meet itself takes place later this month, from March 17-20 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Cardinals tied the school record for participants set by the COVID-cancelled 2020 Championship with 12 and have the seventh most qualifiers in the nation.
A total of 322 participants (281 swimmers and 41 divers) will compete in the championships. Swimmers qualified for the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered. Divers will be determined by performances at the Zone Diving Meets, which will take place, March 7-13. The complete list of swimmers competing in the championships is available at www.usaswimming.org/ncaa. Selected divers will be announced Sunday, March 14.
 Looking to build on their program-best fourth place finish at 2019's NCAA Championships, the Cardinals' 12 individual qualifiers are entered in a combined 11 races. In addition to the individual swims, Louisville has also qualified in all five relays.

In addition,  the Cardinals are ranked in the top 25 in eight events. Freshman Gabi Albiero is the highest ranked Cardinal, sitting at No. 10 in the 100 fly. Kaylee Wheeler is 11th in the 100 breast. Albiero, fellow freshman Tristen Ulett and sophomore Abigail Hay each qualified for three individual events.Â
How to Watch
ESPN3 will provide digital broadcast coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour show at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday, April 6.
