Capacity Increased for UofL Soccer, Will Stand for Baseball and Softball
March 31, 2021 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Capacity for the final three University of Louisville men's and women's soccer games has been increased, but spring sports venues will remain in place at this time, despite some pandemic measures being eased.
Louisville Athletics is continuously working with state and local health officials to update attendance policies as the health climate improves. Additional fans are now permitted in Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium for two remaining men's soccer matches – April 2 vs. Virginia at 7 p.m. and April 9 vs. Clemson at 7 p.m. – and one remaining women's soccer event, April 10 vs. Tennessee at 2 p.m. Permitted capacity has increased from 405 to 655, with properly distanced seating allowed on the West berm. Admission to these three spring matches is free.
UofL officials sought and received permission to increase the percentage capacity for baseball and softball in Ulmer Stadium and Jim Patterson Stadium, respectively. However, the six-foot distance requirements separating fans that remain in place already have the existing crowds in those venues at the maximum size currently possible.
While there is interest to allow additional fans to attend baseball games, there are no additional tickets that could be sold at this time either on a season or single-game basis. Softball will remain at its current capacity, allowing limited free walk-up tickets and berm seating with social distancing. UofL will continue to review expanding availability for all of its venues as regulations evolve and allow. Any revisions in attendance policies will be communicated as new information becomes available.
