Cardinals Fall at No. 6 Florida State

Raven Neely picks up point for the Cardinals
TALLAHASSEE, FL — The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-1 to the sixth-ranked Florida State Seminoles Friday afternoon at Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center in Tallahassee.
Louisville is now 6-8 overall and 3-6 in ACC action while FSU improves to 12-3 overall and 7-2 in ACC play.
In doubles, Chelsea Sawyer and Dina Chaika were shut out 6-0 on court 3 by FSU's Petra Hule and Giulia Pairone before Tatiana Simova and Raven Neely lost 6-3 to FSU's Andrea Garcia and Nandini Das on court 2 to give the Seminoles the doubles point.
In singles action, the Cardinals grabbed the momentum early as Neely defeated FSU's Anna Arkadianou 6-3, 1-0 (retired) to tie the score at 1-1. Florida State, however, would then seize control as Jelena Vujanic was defeated 6-1, 6-3 by FSU's Garcia before Sawyer lost 6-3, 6-3 to Das. The Seminoles clinched the win when Nikolina Jovic took a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Pairone.
UofL now heads back out on the road to take on Miami on Sunday at Noon.
