UofL gets win from Chelsea Sawyer

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 35-ranked Miami in ACC Conference play Sunday afternoon in Coral Gables.

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point despite a win by Raven Neely and Tatiana Simova, who combined forces to defeat Diana Khodan and Maya Tahan 6-4. But Uof L fell when the Canes prevailed at the other two slots.

In singles, Chelsea Sawyer was the lone scorer for the Cardinals with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) win at No. 4 over Florencia Urrutia. Cardinal Andrea Di Palma put up a battle a three-set loss to No. 87-ranked Daevenia Achong before falling 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).

UofL returns from the road to face Xavier on March 26 at noon and UT Martin on March 29 at 2 p.m. at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center.
