LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No.45 ranked Louisville women's tennis team earned their way back into the win column on Friday afternoon with a 4-3 decision over Xavier. The Cardinals improve to 7-9, 3-7 ACC while snapping Xavier's six-match winning streak and handing them their second loss of the season.

Xavier claimed the doubles point of the match after securing victories at No.1 and No.3. No.24 ranked pair Raven Neely and Tatiana Simova secured the Cardinals' lone doubles win, improving their record to 11-4, when they outlasted Kaitlin Reuther and Kat Lyman 7-5 at No.2.

Despite being down 1-0 going into singles, Louisville came out swinging, taking four consecutive courts in straight sets to secure the match win. Simova defeated Xavier's Kaitlin Reuther 6-1,6-1 at No.6 to even the score before Rhea Verma took down Imani Graham 6-3, 6-0 at No.4. Following suit, Chelsea Sawyer captured her team-high tenth singles win after handing Anna Roggenburk her first loss of the season at No.3. Dina Chaika clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No.5.

Although Louisville earned the win, the remaining two courts were played out. Xavier scored both points as Cardinals' No.82 ranked Andrea Di Palma and Neely battled to three sets before ultimately falling to their respective opponents.

Louisville now travels to South Bend, Ill. next Saturday to take on Notre Dame in their final road match of the regular season.
