Cards to face FSU and Miami
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The University of Louisville women's tennis team is set to travel to the Sunshine State this weekend to take on No.7 Florida State and No.34 Miami. Florida State comes into Friday's match with a 11-3 record, including an unblemished 7-0 mark inside Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center. The Seminoles' lineup consists of multiple ranked players, highlighted by reigning ACC Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week Guilia Pairone. The No.27 ranked graduate extended her singles record to 8-5 at No.1 after picking up three wins last week. Leading the way for the Seminoles in doubles competition is Andrea Garcia and Nandini Das. The pair of redshirt-seniors have accumulated an 8-3 record so far this season, including 6-0 at No.3.Â
Â
After opening the spring 3-5, the Hurricanes have rattled off three straight wins over Syracuse, Boston College, and South Florida. Miami has three players ranked in the ITA Singles polls, led by No.2 ranked Estela Perez-Somarriba. The All-American split the latest ACC Player of the Week honors with Florida State's Pairone, adding to a 8-2 singles record and a 3-2 doubles mark with Isabella Pfennig at the top position. Miami is set to face No.47 Notre Dame on Friday before hosting Louisville for Sunday's matinee.Â
