
Louisville Hosts No. 24 Colorado on Thursday at 4 p.m.

The first meeting between the Cardinals and Buffaloes will start at 4 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse (0-1) welcomes No. 24 Colorado (0-0) to UofL Lacrosse Stadium on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast on ACC Network.

Following a loss in the season opener against No. 8 Florida on Saturday, Caroline Blalock leads the Cardinals in goals (2), assists (2), points (4), and ground balls (4). The senior co-captain was named an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Honorable Mention.

Megan Mangines had six draw controls against the Gators, while Rachel Florek registered 14 saves in net.

Head coach Scott Teeter is in his fourth season with Louisville. He owns a 161-149 record in 19 seasons as a head coach. Last season, he led the Cardinals to a 5-4 record before the season was shortened due to the pandemic.

The Cardinals are looking to end a 24-game losing streak to ranked teams. Their last win over a ranked team was a 9-8 victory against No. 7 Syracuse on April 22, 2017.

Thursday's game will serve as the season opener for 24th-ranked Colorado and marks the first meeting between the Buffaloes and Cardinals. Colorado is coming off a 3-2 season in 2020 after the campaign was cut short due to COVID-19. Senior Julia Lisella, who is back for her sixth year, returns as the starting goalkeeper for the fourth-straight season. Fifth-year senior Anna Collawn, as well as seniors Eliza Cahill, Macaul Mellor and junior Sabrina Robbins, return as defensive starters in 2021. Offensively, the Buffaloes did not lose any of their top five scorers. Junior Charlie Rudy, who led the team with 20 goals, returns to the line-up. She also added four assists for a team-best 24 points. Junior Chloe Willard and senior Sadie Grozier each scored 10 goals and senior Zoe Lawless recorded three hat-tricks for nine goals.
