
Louisville Hosts NC State on Sunday

The Cardinals and Wolfpack will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer welcomes NC State to Lynn Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The match will begin at 1 p.m. ET and broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
Louisville enters Sunday's match with a 7-3-1 overall record and they are 3-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Through 11 games, 11 different Cardinals have recorded goals this season, while seven have recorded multiple goals. This comes a season after Louisville had just six players score a goal and just one player scoring multiple goals as Emina Ekic had seven of the 12 goals scored.

Emma Hiscock leads Louisville with four goals, while Nina Nicosia and Delaney Snyder both have three.

Gabby Kouzelos had four saves in the loss at Notre Dame and was replaced by Hanna Wise in the 61st minute. It marked the first time since a 5-2 win over Dayton on Sept. 12, 2019 that Kouzelos has been removed from the game, ending a streak of 36 consecutive matches where she had played every minute.

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes, the winningest coach in UofL program history, enters Sunday with a 194-171-38 record, just six shy of 200 wins for her career.

NC State enters Sunday's match with a 5-6-2 record on the year, they are 1-4 in ACC play. Seven of their 13 games have been against Top 25 teams and they are 1-5-1 in those games. Their lone win over a Top 25 team came last time out at No. 4 Duke when they pulled out a 2-1 win in double overtime. NC State features nine different goal scorers led by Jameese Joseph's five, Annika Wohner's four and Jenna Butler's four. Goalkeeper Maria Echezarreta has played an ACC high 1,215 minutes in net and has recorded 34 saves with a .694 save percentage.

The Cardinals tied it in the 79th minute via a penalty kick goal by Brooklynn Rivers. The Cardinals' best scoring chance in the first overtime period came in the 94th minute after a pass from Corinne Dente connected with Delaney Snyder in front of the goal, but her shot sailed high. A breakaway goal by NC State's Tziarra King in the 96th minute gave the Wolfpack the sudden-death victory.
