Cardinals move to 15-0
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Outside hitter Claire Chaussee and middle blocker Anna Stevenson recorded seven kills each to lead No. 3 University of Louisville volleyball over Boston College 25-14, 25-12, 25-10 on Friday night at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.

Louisville had 40 kills and hit .464 with nine aces, 32 digs and five blocks. Nena Mbonu and Aiko Jones contributed six kills each and hit .750 and .667, respectively. Anna DeBeer had five kills and led the team with five aces with Tori Dilfer tallying 33 assists and Elena Scott leading the team with 14 digs.

Boston College had 19 kills and hit .014 with two blocks, 16 digs and six service errors. Katrina Jensen led the Eagles offense with eight kills. With the loss, Boston College moves to 12-7, 2-3 in the ACC.

Set 1
The Cardinals came out strong and took an early 9-4 lead off a four-point scoring run to force Boston College to call its first timeout of the set. The Cards took the next two points out of the break for a 6-0 run powered by Anna DeBeer's serving to extend the lead 11-5. UofL used another 3-0 run to push the lead to 14-6 as they continued to control the set. The two teams traded points back and forth before Boston College called its final timeout of the set with Louisville leading 21-14. The Cardinals would go on to score five straight points and win the first set 25-14, hitting a blistering .480.

Set 2
Louisville carried its momentum into the second set, jumping out to a quick 7-2 lead off a 4-0 run, including two aces from Anna DeBeer, to force Boston College to take an early first timeout. The Cards stayed hot through the timeout, taking the next two points to extend the lead to 9-2 before BC ended the 6-0 run. UofL went on another four-point scoring run to take a 10-point lead at 14-4 and force the Eagles to take their final timeout of the set. The set went back-and-forth before the Cardinals used a three-point run to extend their lead to 17-7. UofL would go on to take the set 25-12 for a 2-0 lead.

UofL continued its strong play, taking an early 7-3 lead off a 5-0 run. The Cardinals scored three more points to extend their lead to five at 10-5 as Boston College called its first timeout of the set. Louisville dominated out of the break, scoring four more unanswered points for a 6-0 run to take a 14-5 lead and force BC to take its final timeout of the set. The Cardinals remained in control of the set out of the timeout, scoring three more points to extend their lead to 12 at 17-5 before the Eagles halted the 9-0 scoring run. UofL put together another run of four to go up 21-7 and eventually went on to complete the sweep with a 25-10 win, hitting .700 for the set.

With the win, Louisville earned its 13th sweep of the season and remain undefeated with a 15-0 record, 5-0 in the ACC. Up next, the Cardinals play Syracuse on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. ET.
