Â
Dieye, an accounting major, earns All-ACC Academic Team honors for the second time in his career after also being named as a freshman in 2016. Earlier in January, Dieye became UofL's 23rd player all-time chosen the MLS SuperDraft when he was drafted by the New York Red Bulls with the 15th overall pick. Dieye ended his career as a Cardinal leading the team in every offensive statistic on the season. He led the Cards with seven goals, including three game-winners. He dished out six assists for 17 points and also led the team with 79 shots and 36 shots on goal. Dieye was named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-South Region Second Team and the USC Scholar All-South Region Second Team. In addition, he was a 2019 All-ACC Second Team selection and was a third team selection in 2018.
Â
Gelnovatch earned his second consecutive All-ACC Academic Team honor. A sports administration major, Gelnovatch was named to the ACC Championship All-Tournament Team last season. This year, he played every minute (1,876:05) in goal for the Cardinals as he ranked 16th in the nation with eight shutouts. He was also ranked nationally in goals against average and total saves. Gelnovatch tied a career-high with seven saves in a shutout victory of 14th seeded UC Davis in the NCAA Second Round.
Â
Cochran came to Louisville as a walk-on but left as a team captain. He became a mainstay on the Cardinals' backline, playing in 75 career games and earning 71 starts. This season, Cochran recorded a career-high two assists, including the game-winner against then-No. 2 ranked, and eventual national champion, Georgetown in double overtime. Cochran earned his bachelor's degree in sport administration from UofL last year and is currently pursuing a master's degree in human resources and organizational development.
A finance major, Elveroth was a MAC Hermann Watch List selection in his first season with the Cardinals. He finished the season third on the team with three goals, including the game-winner in overtime against Northern Kentucky. Against rival Kentucky, Elveroth scored a goal and had an assist to help the Cards take down the 9th ranked Wildcats.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the team.
