Louisville Baseball Announces 2019 Summer Assignments

The Cardinals have 19 underclassmen assigned to five different leagues this summer.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following the deepest postseason run in program history, the University of Louisville baseball team has transitioned into the summer with the announcement of the team's summer baseball assignments.
The Cardinals have 19 underclassmen assigned to five different leagues for the summer, including 11 in the Cape Cod League. Henry Davis, Michael Kirian, Jared Poland and Kerry Wright will spend the summer with the Bourne Braves, while Alex Binelas, Reid Detmers and Bobby Miller were assigned to the Brewster Whitecaps. Binelas, Detmers, Kirian and Miller are set to join their respective teams following their time with the USA Collegiate National Team.
Glenn Albanese and Lucas Dunn will be with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, with Zach Britton and Carter Lohman playing for the Orleans Firebirds.
Ben Bianco, Ben Metzinger and Chris Seng were each assigned to the Perfect Game League, with Bianco playing for the Oneonta Outlaws while Metzinger and Seng spend the summer with the Albany Dutchmen.
A pair of Cardinals will spend the summer in the Northwoods League. Andrew Benefield is playing for the Madison Mallards, while Trey Leonard is with the Waterloo Bucks.
Garrett Schmeltz is with the Newport Gulls and Cameron Masterman the Danbury Westerners, both of the New England League, while Tim Borden is with the Quincy Gems of the Prospect League.
Louisville put together one of the best seasons in program history in 2019, posting a 51-18 overall record and finishing as one of the last four teams standing at the NCAA College World Series.
