
Molly Fears Makes World University Games Roster

Cardinals' Diver will head to Italy for WUGs
University of Louisville's Molly Fears will be one of 14Â divers from seven universities who will represent the United States at the World University Games from July 2-8 in Naples, Italy.
The team includes two World University Games veterans, with Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Mich./University Missouri) having competed at the 2015 World University Games and Meghan O'Brien (Concord, Mass./University of Texas) diving in 2017.
In addition to O'Brien, Texas will be represented by Jacob Cornish (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Jordan Windle (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).
Ohio State and Stanford also will have three divers apiece on the team. The Buckeyes will be represented by Jacob Fielding (Los Angeles) and Jacob Siler (Knoxville, Tenn.) as well as incoming freshman Lyle Yost (Shaker Heights, Ohio).
Stanford will be represented by Conor Casey (Annandale, Va.), Daria Lenz (Altadena, Calif.) and Carolina Sculti (Rye, N.Y.).
Rounding out the team are Purdue's Emily Bretscher (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Greg Duncan (Oakton, Va.) along with Louisville's Molly Fears (Plainfield, Ind.) and Nebraska's Abigail Knapton (Omaha, Neb.).
Stanford's Patrick Jeffrey and Ohio State's Justin Sochor will coach the team. Nebraska coach Natasha Chikina will serve as team leader.
Junior Molly Fears made history as the first Louisville diver to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors to set the University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team up for the final session of the NCAA Championships. In the platform dive prelims, Fears came from behind to qualify 15th into the consolation final with a score of 256.50. In the consolation final, she placed fourth for 12th overall with a score of 258.65, solidifying Honorable Mention All-American honors and adding five points to the Cards' team total.
