Cardinals Fall to No. 20 Virginia

Cards take ACC road loss
CHARLOTTESVILLE, N.C. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell to No. 20 Virginia  7-0 Sunday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center in Charlottesville, Va.
Virginia (16-5, 8-4 ACC) won the doubles point then swept through singles play for the win over the Cardinals (10-12, 2-10 ACC). Â
Virginia took the doubles point, picking up a 6-2 win from the duo of Hunter Bleser and Meghan Kelley over UofL's Aleksandra Mally and Diana Wong on court three before the No. 63-ranked tandem of junior Chloe Gullickson and freshman Amber clinched the point with a 6-2 win over the UofL tandem of Nikolina Jovic and Raven Neeley at No. 1.

In singles, No. 31-ranked Meghan Kelley won when Nikolina Jovic had to retire. Dina Chaika then fell to UVA's Sofia Munera at No. 5 with a score of 6-1, 6-1. UofL's Sena Suswam battled Vivian Glozman at No. 2 before falling 6-1, 1-6, 6-0. Camille Favero beat Cardinal Diana Wong 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6. Aleksandra Mally fell 6-1, 7-5 to No. 117 ranked Chloe Gullickson of Virginia at the No. 4 slot. UofL's Raven Neely was the last to fall, bowing 6-4, 7-6 to No. 76 ranked Amber O'Dell at No. 3.

The Cardinals will end regular season play April 11 at Miami and April 12 at Florida State.
