Cardinals Fall to No. 25 Miami in ACC Play

Cards finish out regular season on Saturday at Tallahassee
The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 25-ranked University of Miami Thursday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Louisville moves to 10-13 and 2-11 in the conference. Â Miami moves to 15-6 and 8-5 in ACC play.
At No. 2 doubles, UM's  Estela Perez-Somarriba and Ulyana Shirokova won 6-3 over Cardinals Chloe Hamlin and Sena Suswam.
The doubles point was clinched when UM's Daevenia Achong paired with Daniella Roldan rallied back from 1-3 and 3-4 deficits against Dina Chaika and Raven Neely as the No. 20-ranked duo recorded a 6-4 win.
At No. 4, Ulyana Shirokova registered the first decision in singles action, posting a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Chloe Hamlin. At No. 6 UM's Madcur beat Dina Chaika 6-2, 6-0 .
The match was clinched by UM's Lucia Marzal who downed Diana Wong, 6-2, 6-4, just ahead of her teammate, Yuno Ito topped Aleksandra Mally, 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 1 singles, Â second-ranked Estela Perez-Somarriba tacked on an additional win for the Hurricanes with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Raven Neely, who had the reigning ACC Player of the Year down 0-2 and 1-4 in the first set, as well as 0-3 and 3-4 in the second set before bowing.

At. No. 2, in the lone three-set match of the day, Achong battled to a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 win over Sena Suswam.

The Cardinals have their final regular season matchup Saturday,  April 13 at  12:00 p.m. when they head to Tallahassee to face Florida State.
