Cardinals Record Top Finishes at the TYR Pro Swim Series at Richmond

Three Cardinals earned podium finishes in a combined four events.
RICHMOND, Va. – Marcelo Acosta, Kelsi Dahlia and Zach Harting each recorded top-three finishes to lead the University of Louisville men's and women's swimming team through the third night of competition at the TYR Pro Swim Series at Richmond on Friday evening at the Collegiate School Aquatic Center.
Two Cardinals competed in the A final of the 200 LCM fly, led by Dahlia with a third place finish in a time of 2:09.09. Alena Kraus improved over a second from her morning swim, taking sixth with a 2:12.86. Harting also secured a podium finish in the 200 LCM fly, touching third with a time of 1:58.56.
In a quick turnaround following the 200 fly, Dahlia finished sixth in the 50 LCM free, stopping the clock with a time of 25.26. On the men's side, Mihalis Deliyiannis was the Cards' top finisher in fifth with a 22.46. Andrej Barna followed just behind, registering a time of 22.55 for sixth. Also competing for Louisville was Bartosz Piszczorowicz, who posted a time of 23.48.
In the men's 100 LCM back, Nikos Sofianidis dropped time from his prelims swim, finishing sixth overall with a time of 55.38.
Dahlia capped off a busy day with a second place finish in the 50 LCM fly, recording a time of 25.90. Kraus also competed in the event, placing 15th with a 28.00. In the men's 50 LCM fly, Harting finished seventh overall with a time of 24.13.
In the Cards' final race of the evening, Acosta collected his second podium finish of the weekend, taking third in the 400 LCM free with a time of 3:54.55.
The Cards will be back in action at the TYR Pro Swim Series at Richmond tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. for the prelims of the 200 IM, 200 back, 50 breast, 100 free and 1500 free.
