
Louisville Hosts No. 15 Duke on Saturday afternoon

The Cardinals and Blue Devils will square off at noon.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After two straight road contests, University of Louisville women's lacrosse returns home to UofL Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday at 12 p.m. for an ACC matchup against No. 15 Duke.

Last time out, Alex McNicholas led the Cardinals to a 15-5 victory over Butler, scoring a team-high four goals for her first hat trick of the season. McNicholas also tallied three draw controls and now leads Louisville, alongside Sarah Blalock, with 20 draws through seven games.

Tessa Chad also had a strong showing against Butler, recording three goals for her fourth hat trick of the year. The senior leads Louisville with 15 goals, despite going scoreless in two of the Cardinals' seven contests.

Sophomore Caroline Blalock leads the Cardinals in three statistical categories, including points (18), assists (7), and ground balls (16).

In goal, Rachel Florek has collected 40 saves and owns a save percentage of .435.

Duke (5-1, 1-0 ACC) was tabbed at No. 15 in the latest Inside Lacrosse Poll and is currently riding a three-game winning streak. The Blue Devils' only loss of the season was a 21-20 decision at then-No. 7 Northwestern.

Duke is averaging 17.8 goals per game through six contests and is led by sophomore Charlotte North, who has tallied a team-high 29 goals and 13 assists for 42 points.
Senior Olivia Jenner has also been a strong offensive presence for the Blue Devils with 20 goals and 11 assists, while also adding a team-high 38 draw controls.

In the ACC Preseason Poll, Duke was picked to finish seventh and Jenner earned Preseason All-ACC recognition. The senior was also named to Inside Lacrosse's Preseason All-America third team, while teammates Callie Humphrey and North were honorable mention selections.

Series History - Duke leads Louisville 5-1 in the all-time series and the Cards are 1-1 at home. In the last meeting, Duke won 21-12 in Durham, N.C. on March 10, 2018.

Last season against Duke, the Cardinals fell behind 4-0 in the first two minutes and played from behind for the remainder of the game. Despite trailing 20-6 with under 18 minutes to go, Louisville outscored the Blue Devils 6-1 the rest of the way. Caroline Blalock led the Cards with three goals.
