SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Louisville women's lacrosse fell 16-4 at No. 19 Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 1-5 on the season, and 0-1 in ACC play, while the Fighting Irish improve to 6-0 and 1-0 in the league.
Notre Dame opened the game with the first eight goals to build an 8-0 lead.
Alex McNicholas got the Cardinals on the board with 8:34 left to go in the first half and UofL went into halftime trailing 10-1.
In the second half, Louisville received three goals in six minutes from Shayla Scanlan, Caroline Blalock and Hannah Morris and trimmed the lead to 13-4, but could not get any closer as they fell 16-4.Â
McNicholas finished with a goal on two shots, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control. Ally Hall had the lone assist for the Cardinals.
Rachel Florek played the first 45 minutes in goal, recording six saves and allowing 14 goals.
Next up, Louisville remains in Indiana to square off against Butler on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET.
