Louisville Women’s Golf Set for Tar Heel Classic in Dominican Republic

The two-day event will be played Friday and Saturday at the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.

Format: 54 holes (36 on Friday, 18 on Saturday)
Tee Time: Friday (7:30 a.m. shotgun start), Saturday (7:30 a.m. shotgun start)
Location: La Romana, Dominican Republic
Course (Par/Yardage): Casa de Campo Resort & Villas – Teeth of the Dog course (par 72/6,140 yards)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville women's golf team returns to the course on Friday and Saturday for the Tar Heel Classic hosted at the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas on the Teeth of the Dog course in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
The Cardinals are playing in their first team event since taking second at the Moon Golf Invitational Feb. 18-19 in Melbourne, Fla. UofL has finished third or better in four of its six tournaments this season, including a victory at the Alexa Stirling Women's Intercollegiate in October.
The 15-team field features eight teams ranked in the top 50 in the latest Golfstat Rankings, with six ACC teams set to compete.
Louisville's lineup for the tournament will feature Lauren Hartlage, Mairead Martin, Lauren Thibodeau, Olivia Cason and Linda Trockel, the same group that finished as the runner-up at the Moon Golf Invitational.
Hartlage captured the individual title in Melbourne, shooting 69-67-70 to finish at 10-under par for her second career victory. In six events this season, Hartlage has four top-10 finishes with a stroke average of 71.88.
Martin owns two top-10 showings of her own on the season, and she and fellow freshman Thibodeau each have five rounds of par or better.
Louisville will be paired up with Maryland and Virginia Tech for the opening day of play. The tournament will feature live scoring available via Golfstat.com.
