Fears Earns ACC Diver of the Week Honors

Molly Fears recorded two second place finishes against Indiana.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a pair of strong performances at the Cardinals' meet against Indiana, University of Louisville diver Molly Fears has been selected as the ACC Diver of the Week, which was announced Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference Office.
Fears collected two second place finishes against the Hoosiers, both of which were NCAA Zone cuts. The junior finished runner-up to Indiana's NCAA champion and Olympian Jessica Parratto on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
The Plainfield, Indiana native scored a 284.18 on 1-meter and a 325.50 on 3-meter. Her score on 3-meter surpassed the NCAA Zone qualifying mark by over 45 points.
This marks the second time this season Fears has been selected as ACC Diver of the Week. She also received the award on Oct. 29 after sweeping the diving events in the Cardinals' win over Tennessee.
Fears will be back in action on Feb. 20-23 as the Louisville women head to Greensboro, N.C. for the ACC Championships.
