Stevenson has 11 kills to pace Louisville
DURHAM, N.C. -- Anna Stevenson had 11 kills, hit .588 and added two blocks to lead the No. 25-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team to a 25-21, 25-17, 25-14 sweep at Duke.

With the win, the Cardinals move to 12-3 and remain unbeaten in the ACC at 5-0.  Louisville hit .430 with three aces and four blocks.  UofL's Aiko Jones had nine kills, an ace and two digs with teammate Melanie McHenry adding eight kills, two aces and a block. Tori Dilfer had a match-high 34 assists and eight digs. Duke drops to 8-10 and 1-4 in the ACC. The Blue Devils hit .119 with three aces and three blocks. DU was led by Payton Schwantz's 10 kills and eight digs.

In the first set, UofL had a hot hitting hand, connecting on .389 of its attacks. After tying at seven, the Cardinals went on a 6-0 scoring run to go up 13-7, powered by two kills and a block by Anna Stevenson. Although the Cards never trailed again, Duke had a 5-1 run to come with one point at 15-14. Melanie McHenry had two kills and an ace in an offensive sequence that took UofL up 21-17 and necessitated a Duke timeout. The Cards got to set point on a block by McHenry and Stevenson and a kill by Aiko Jones gave Louisville the 25-21 win in the first.

UofL used an 8-1 run to take a 19-13 lead in the second set. Aiko Jones had two consecutive kills to break up a 4-0 run by Duke at 22-17. A kill by McHenry took the Cards to set point and another kill by Jones tipped the 25-17 win to the Cards. The Cardinals' hitting stayed hot as they hit .300 with 13 kills and only four errors in the second.

 In the third set, UofL had a 6-1 run sparked by three straight kills from Claire Chaussee, who came in midway through the final stanza and proved to be the spark the Cards needed. Two aces gave the Cardinals an 18-13 lead before the Cardinals powered through for the 25-14 win after Chaussee scored the set and match point.

UofL heads over to Wake Forest for a 1 p.m. match in Winston-Salem on Sunday, Oct. 13.
