Â
In the first set, UofL ran out to a five point lead at 10-5 on a setter dump by Shannon Shields. Wake struggled with -.080 hitting and had to call timeout down 19-10 after Alexa Hendricks zinged an ace by the Deacons. WFU did managed a 4-1 run late based on three straight Cardinal miscues but Lousiville retained the lead at 20-14. Wake would score just three more times, falling 25-17. The Cards had two blocks and hit .240. Anna Stevenson had four kills in the set.
Â
The Cardinals used aggressive serving to keep the Demon Deacons back on their heels most of the set. UofL rocketed five aces including three consecutive aces by Melanie McHenry. Wake had the lead early when it took a 6-5 lead on an ace by Peyton Suess.  WFU would not lead again but would tie four times before falling 25-19 on a cross court shot by Nena Mbonu, her third of the set.
Â
In the third set, UofL popped out to a 9-3 lead early but Wake pulled within two at 11-9 on a kill by Peyton Suess. UofL got two kills from Claire Chaussee to take a 16-12 lead and sparked a WFU timeout. The break did not snap the Cardinal momentum as Wake had to burn its final timeout after UofL took a 19-14 lead on an ace by Shannon Shields. The Deacons could not regroup and a kill by Aiko Jones gave UofL set and match.Â
