The Cards posted a collective 12 wins on the afternoon.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Despite collecting a combined 12 wins, the University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team fell to Kentucky at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. The No. 16 Louisville women were defeated 175-125 by No. 10 Kentucky, while the No. 8 men fell 157.5-142.5.
Â
Mallory Comerford (200/100 free), Evgenii Somov (100/200 breast) and Nicolas Albiero (100/200 back) led the Cardinals with two individual event wins apiece.
"I'm proud of our team effort today. We had a number of people step up and perform well, but obviously we let too many opportunities escape us," said UofL head coach Arthur Albiero. "Especially on the road, the little things catch up with you, and we missed too many chances. We battled hard until the very last moment, but just fell short on both sides. We will continue to learn and get a little better daily. This meet will help us sharpen our preparation for our championship season."Â
