Cardinals face Purdue on the road before hosting EKU on Sunday night
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Off to their best start since 2012, the No. 24 University of Louisville women's soccer team heads to West Lafayette, Ind. on Thursday at 7 p.m. to take on Purdue. The Cardinals will then return to Lynn Stadium on Sunday for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Eastern Kentucky, their final nonconference match of the season
The Cardinals (5-0-0) are coming off Friday's thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Kentucky. Brooklynn Rivers scored the game-winner from 18-yards out in the opening minutes of the overtime period to lift the Cards to the victory.
Rivers leads Louisville with four goals and nine points after recording her first career hat trick in the Cards' 3-1 win over Michigan on August 26. Freshman Maisie Whitsett has also been instrumental to the Cardinals' offense, tallying three goals and one assist through five matches.
In goal, redshirt sophomore Gabby Kouzelos has started all five contests for Louisville, recording four saves and a goals against average of 0.61. Senior Gabrielle Vincent anchors the Cardinals' defense at centerback.
Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 19th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to four NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.
SCOUTING PURDUE
The Boilermakers (3-1-1) most recently suffered their first loss of the season on the road as they fell 2-1 to No. 15 South Carolina. Sophomore midfielder Kylie Hase, who scored Purdue's lone goal against the Gamecocks, leads the Boilermakers with three goals through five matches.
Fellow sophomore Sarah Clark has tallied a team-high seven points on the season, scoring two goals and adding three assists. Sydney Duarte, Skylurr Patrick and Teagan Jones have each recorded one goal apiece.
Katie Luce has played all 90 minutes in goal in each of the Boilermakers five contests this season, amassing 22 saves and earning a 0.77 goals against average.
Head coach Drew Roff is in his fourth season at the helm of the Purdue women's soccer team. He has compiled a 150-92-17 career record as a collegiate head coach and helped the Boilermakers to their first 10-win season since 2009 in 2017.

Thursday's match marks the fifth meeting between the Boilermakers and the Cardinals. Louisville holds a 2-1-1 advantage, but fell 3-2 in the teams' most recent contest on Sept. 8, 2017 at Lynn Stadium.

In their most recent outing, Eastern Kentucky (4-2-0) defeated Kentucky by a mark of 1-0. Sophomore Kylie Thompson scored in the fourth minute to propel the Colonels to their first-ever win over the Wildcats.
Junior forward Erin Torrence leads the attack for the Colonels with two goals and three assists for seven points. She is followed by Sarah Owusu and Idalys Rea, who have each amassed six points through six contests.
Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Aguirre has registered 16 saves on the season, while recording two shutouts and a goals against average of 0.67.
The Colonels are led by head coach Nick Flohre, who is in his third season at the helm of the program. Through two seasons, he has compiled a record of 28-12-5 and has guided Eastern Kentucky to two straight OVC Tournament appearances.
