Cards stay undefeated in singles

The University of Louisville women's tennis team won both its singles matches and first round doubles matches during the first day of the Fall Hoosier Classic Friday afternoon in Bloomington.

Nina Jovic and Dina Chaika took down Ohio State's Emma DeCoste and Mary Beth Hurley 8-6. The pair of Maya Smith and Raven Neely took Marquette's Alex Chinikova and Isabella Franks in an 8-2 win. Both pairs lost in the second round. Neely and Smith fell to Western Michigan and Jovic and Chaika fell to Indiana.

In singles action, Raven Neely beat IU's Caitlin Bernard in three sets and Nina Jovic rolled over KSU's Ionana Gheorghita 6-3, 6-2.

Play resumes tomorrow at the IU Varsity Tennis Courts.
