LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team tied for seventh at the Mason Rudolph Championship after the final round of play was canceled on Sunday due to inclement in Franklin, Tenn.
The Cardinals on Saturday completed nearly one-and-a-half rounds of golf before the weather forced a stoppage in play. All 15 teams returned to the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course on Sunday morning, but were unable to resume. Originally a three-round tournament, only two rounds were scored.
Lauren Hartlage totaled an even-par 144 and tied for 22nd. The junior shot a 1-under-par 71 in the opening round and followed with a 2-over-par 73.
Mairead Martin finished, for the second-consecutive tournament, with the team's second-best score. The freshman logged a 3-over-par 147, tying for 31st. She shot a 1-under-par 71 in the second round, giving her two rounds this season even or below par.
Delaney Shah rounded out the top-three finishers, tying for 37th. In her first event of the season, Shah recorded a 4-over-par 148. She contributed both of her rounds to the team score.
Lauren Thibodeau tied for 45th, aided by her stellar 3-under-par 69 on the first day. Olivia Cason tied for 63rd.
The Cardinals tied with North Carolina after both teams shot a 12-over-par 588. Vanderbilt won the team title with a 17-under-par 559.
Louisville returns to competition in two weeks, taking part in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational from Oct. 12-14.
