
Cardinals to Compete in Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational

The tournament will take place Friday through Sunday in Chapel Hill.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team travels to Chapel Hill, N.C. this weekend to take part in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational.

The 54-hole tournament will take place October 12-14 at the UNC Finley Golf Course. The course is set up as par-72 and is 6379 yards. The Cardinals will tee off at 11 a.m. on Friday.

"We have been working hard over the fall break and are very eager to get back on the course," said head coach Courtney Trimble. "This event has one of the best fields we will see all year. We look forward to competing against some of the best teams in the country and beginning our final stretch of the fall season."

Louisville's starting lineup will be Lauren Hartlage, Olivia Cason, Mairead Martin, Lauren Thibodeau, and Margot Bechadergue.

Hartlage has averaged a score of 71.8 Â over the first two tournaments, while Martin is not far behind at 73.0.
Three weeks ago at the Mason Rudolph Championship, Hartlage totaled an even-par 144 and tied for 22nd. The junior shot a 1-under-par 71 in the opening round and followed with a 2-over-par 73.
Martin finished with the team's second-best score. The freshman logged a 3-over-par 147, tying for 31st. She shot a 1-under-par 71 in the second round, giving her two rounds this season even or below par.
Cason and Thibodeau are both coming off strong showings at the Mason Rudolph Championship as Cason shot a 156 and Thibodeau a 150.

Last year at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, the Cardinals finished in eighth place. Hartlage finished tied for 51st, while Cason finished tied for 61st.
