Lauren Thibodeau shot a 3-under-par 69 in the first round of play.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Thibodeau fired a 3-under-par 69 on Friday, pacing the University of Louisville women's golf team on the first day of competition at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee.
Behind nearly error-free golf, Thibodeau carded four birdies on her way to a 3-under-par performance over her final nine holes. The freshman is tied for fifth after registering her first career round in the 60s.
Collectively, Louisville is sixth after shooting a 1-over-par 289 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course. Vanderbilt is leading the 15-team field on its home course behind a 10-under-par 278.
Because of expected inclement weather late Saturday and early Sunday, the schedule has been adjusted for teams to play 36 holes starting Saturday morning. Louisville is paired with Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Houston for a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Lauren Hartlage, aided by five birdies, carded a 1-under 71 and is tied for 18th. It was her 37th round even or below par, tying Laura Restrepo for third in program history.
Delaney Shah, who is playing in her first event this season, registered a 1-over-par 73. She is tied for 35th.
Freshman Mairead Martin and Olivia Cason each logged a 4-over-par 76 and are tied for 50th.
