LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team is set to compete in one of the top tournaments in the country this weekend, when it travels to the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship in Franklin, Tenn.
The 15-team tournament spans three days, beginning Friday, and features eight programs that finished 2017-18 in Golfstat's top 30. The 54-hole event is being held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course, where Louisville tees off on the first day with Auburn and Clemson at 11:10 a.m. ET.
The Cardinals will feature a lineup of Lauren Hartlage, Mairead Martin, Olivia Cason, Lauren Thibodeau, and Delaney Shah.
Louisville is coming off a third-place finish in its season opener at the Minnesota Invitational nearly two weeks ago. The Cardinals climbed three spots on the final day of competition to earn their 30th top-five finish under head coach Courtney Trimble.
Hartlage paced the Cardinals, tying for sixth with a 1-under-par 215. The junior shot two rounds even or below par, giving the Elizabethtown, Ky., native 36 for her career. She is one shy of tying Laura Restrepo (2016-18) for third all-time in school history.
Martin, who was making her collegiate debut, finished 13th after shooting a 2-over-par 218. Cason tied for 14th with a 3-over-par 219.
It is the second time in program history the Cardinals are playing at the Mason Rudolph Championship, with the initial appearance in 2015. Cason, as a freshman, tied for fifth with a 4-under-par 212 to pace Louisville, which finished 10th.
Results will be available on Golfstat.com.
