UofL to Host Scrimmages Friday, Saturday at Patterson Stadium

Friday’s intrasquad scrimmage set for a 2:30 p.m., ET start; Saturday’s will begin at 11 a.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball team will conclude its third week of fall workouts with two intrasquad scrimmages Friday and Saturday at Jim Patterson Stadium.
First pitch for Friday's scrimmage is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., ET and batting practice will begin at approximately 1:15 p.m. Saturday's scrimmage will begin at 11 a.m., while batting practice is set for 9:45 a.m. Admission is free for both scrimmages.
The Cardinals are scheduled to host intraquad scrimmages each weekend in September and into October before closing the fall with the annual Pizza Bowl series in mid-October. The specific dates and times for the intrasquad scrimmages as well as the Pizza Bowl will be announced each week. Louisville will also host an open scrimmage against Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Louisville entered the fall with returning seven starters in the batting order as well as 10 pitchers from last year's squad, which finished with a 45-19 record after advancing to the championship round of an NCAA Regional for the seventh straight season. Louisville also registered its seventh straight 40-win season and the 11th in 12 seasons under head coach Dan McDonnell.
