
Women's Lacrosse to Play at No. 5 North Carolina on Saturday

The Cardinals and Tar Heels will square off at 3 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse (6-7, 0-3) travels to Chapel Hill, N.C. to play at No. 5 North Carolina on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.

The Cardinals look to put an end to their four-game losing streak as they close the season against three top 20 teams in North Carolina, No. 10 Virginia and No. 18 Syracuse.
"It's a tough stretch to end the season for sure, but if we keep playing the way we did against Virginia Tech on Saturday, while cleaning up some of the mental mistakes, we'll compete and that's what we want," said head coach Scott Teeter.Â

On Saturday, Louisville led by four at half against No. 14 Virginia Tech before falling 15-14.
Tessa Chad had five first half goals against the Hokies, which ranks third in program history. She has 39 goals on the season, which leads the Cards.
Alex McNicholas also had a big day for the Cards as she finished with eight draw controls, three assists, three caused turnovers, two ground balls and a goal. She leads the team with 49 draw controls, 22 of which have come in the last three games. She ranks third with seven assists.

North Carolina is 8-3 overall and 3-1 in ACC play. They have won five of their last six games with their lone conference loss coming at No. 2 Boston College, 17-11. All three of their losses have come to top eight teams as they also fell at No. 4 James Madison, 15-14 in double overtime, and against No. 8 Florida, 17-10.
They are led by Marie McCool, who has a team-high 36 goals, while adding eight assists. She also has a team-high 81 draw controls.Â
