
Blalock, Hall Record Two Goals as Women's Lacrosse Falls at North Carolina

Caroline Blalock and Ally Hall finished with four of the Cards' six goals.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Caroline Blalock and Ally Hall each finished with two goals as Louisville women's lacrosse fell at No. 5 North Carolina 16-6 on Saturday afternoon.Â
The loss marks Louisville's fifth in a row as they fall to 6-8 overall and 0-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Tar Heels improve to 9-3 and 4-1 in league play.
 After North Carolina scored the first two goals of the game, Blalock cut the lead in half by getting the Cards on the board. But, the Cards went scoreless for the next 18 minutes, which allowed the Tar Heels to score five straight goals and head into the locker room with a 7-2 lead.
Louisville did not get any closer than five goals the rest of the way as North Carolina scored the first three goals of the second half to extend its lead.
Caroline Blalock finished with two goals on six shots, which gives her 37 goals on the season, while also recording two ground balls. Hall added two second half goals on three shots, while Julia Wood and Sarah Blalock each found the back of the net.
Emily Howell recorded four draw controls and Alex McNicholas had three, but overall North Carolina won draw controls, 16-8.
Lexie Ball finished with 10 saves for the Cards.
Next up, Louisville returns home to face Virginia next Saturday at 12 p.m. ET for senior day.
